Toucher & Rich of WBCN yesterday featured a double dose of Black & Gold. First up, they played a little game of "Jack Edwards BINGO" in studio to the audio from Tuesday nights Game Six NESN feed. Needless to say, I really need to start DVR'ing the games before I head out to a bar to watch them because I miss so many classic "Edwardisms". Also, who didn't see Fred getting pissed off going into this bit? Anyways, here are just a few classic ones from last night:
- "And Bergeron almost squeezed the top of his head off like a teenager popping a zit"
- "I'm not sure if Jokinen has his own web address but I have a feeling if he does it has a couple of backslashes in it."
- "Yelle attacks the puck hard and from his fanny kicks it over"
- "Scott Walker is sitting in the electric chair and the Governor called"
- "You can pencil it in, its not in pen yet but there just might be a Game Seven on Thursday night"
- "Zdeno Chara gobbles up a rebound"
- "I dont know what hes been smoking but when they legalize it I think I might try some, that is powerful hallucination"
Next up, the guys had Aaron Ward on the show for his weekly appearance and attempted to hopefully put an end to all the "Punch Gate" talk. Ward got into a lot of detail on the whole incident and actually got to explain what happened without being baited into a "headline worthy sound bite" so kudos to the guys of T&R for that one. So to recap, it happened... Walker spoke his mind... Ward spoke his mind... its over... now lets move on. After that Wardo talked about some other subjects including his favorite analyst and former coach/GM Mike Milbury, the complete series as a whole thus far and how the Bruins have retooled their play in order to win Games Five & Six.
