Back in early September the Hub Hockey Crew attended the "State of the Bruins" event at the Garden. Luckily I remembered to bring my camera that night and was able to snap off some great pictures of Milan Lucic unveiling the B's new alternate jersey. Lucic was introduced by Charlie Jacobs at the end of the event wearing what Charlie said was the B's new replacement for the "Pooh Bear" alternates. Well I guess this wasn't the case.
According to Icethetics this was not the Bruins planned official unveiling of the jersey.
"For weeks I've been assuming the the Boston Bruins unveiled their new third jersey when Milan Lucic wore it in front of season ticket holders at the State of the Bruins event. I now have new reliable information that says that was not the "official" release of the sweater.
In fact, the Boston Bruins will officially unveil their third jersey on Monday, November 24. I don't know any details regarding plans for this unveiling, but I do know the team has plans to show the new alternate sweater to fans and the public on that date." -Icethetics
My guess is that the "State of the Bruins" unveiling WAS the official unveiling but the Bruins never made a big deal about it, like most of the other teams have, and so are now giving it a second go around. I mean when a two month old blog (us) are the only source of pictures, than you definitely didn't do something right. So it now looks like a currently unannounced event on November 24th will be the REAL unveiling.
But in the end all I really care about is when will the team actually wear the jerseys and when will I be able to pick one up...
